A truly despicable move

The other day I fumed about Amnesty’s siding with the Scottish Ministers instead of For Women Scotland; so did JKR.

Seriously.

Last few months feel rather, well, eschatological, don’t they? Not that I believe that shit . . . But you know what I mean. Trump re-election, +1.5 degree anomaly, trans Uber alles . . .

But eroding women’s rights is no big deal.

I absolutely gasp how Amnesty has strayed from its original purpose of campaigning for prisoners of conscience, something that most people could approve of, to going down the sectarian route.

Seriously. How does “amnesty” even come into it?? How is this part of their brief at all in any way???

Not a word one needs much unless one is the right sort of theologian. Likewise scatological unless one is the right sort of medical specialist. However, “shit” is very appropriate, as in Spanish eschatology and scatology are spelt exactly the same: escatologIa!

Australia’s esteemed Macquarie Dictionary’s Word of the Year for 2024 is “enshitification”.

This hardcore atheist has used ‘eschatology’ in at least one poem. It’s one of my favourite words. I refuse to give it up.

    It’s an excellent word.
