Well, the whole ‘both sides’ narrative is based on the notion that there are only two sides, and if you’re not on Team Trans, you’re on the ‘other side’, so gender-critical feminists and doctors are obviously just the same as the Proud Boys and their ilk.
Freemage, not just that there are only two sides, but that there are always two sides. Sometimes there really aren’t two sides, like a Mobius strip issue (how I like to think of them, but you can think of them anyway you want). Or that the weight of evidence on one side makes it effectively only one sided.
“Sides” are on a spectrum. There can be one, or there can be legion.
