He may well ask

I think I know the answer to this dudely question.

She’s someone who amassed an enormous amount of money and influence and clout by writing novels that sell in the millions. She’s someone who decided to put some of that money and clout to use disputing the more unreasonable claims and demands of trans activists, and defending feminist women. I expect she would agree that she fits that description, and I think that’s probably who she thinks she is.

Some people who reply to Ally Fogg are asking who the fuck he thinks he is.

    Your Name’s not Bruce?

I wonder if Mr. Fogg ever troubles himself to ask TiMs who the fuck they think they are? They’re the ones pretending to be something they’re not.

Damn, that’s disappointing. Ally Fogg was a member of FTB in its early days, before the madness crept in. He was that rarity of rarities: an advocate for men’s issues that was not an MRA and was not hostile to feminism. Sad to see that last point is no longer the case.

Ya I found that out when the FTBers turned on me. I thought he would be one of the exceptions but nope – he made sure to let me know he too thought I was an evil monstrosity.

I didn’t notice the “early days” bit though. Was he? I think he was a pretty late addition.

Not sure, earlyish, FTB has been up for long enough now that I don’t even remember when it began. The whole timeline of the blogger additions and dropouts is quite foggy now.

Ok so I looked it up. FTB started in August 2011 and Fogg joined in May 2013.

I knew that name from somewhere. I halfway believed in transwomen back then. I hit peak trans in 2015 with Jenner and Dolezal, and also learning that pushy fetishists had been harassing Michfest for years and that Mich would shut down in 2016 rather than face lawsuits. Trans women are pushy narcissistic abusive men.

Fogg is a disappointment. He pushed back hard against MRA’s while advocating for mens rights and health needs – which was excellent. However, like many otherwise decent men he seems incapable of even comprehending why women are so concerned about gender identity impacting their rights and safety.

I think the reason so many men can be blind to this is in part because of shallow empathy. They empathise with people they see as vulnerable seeking rights to live as they like because they understand that. They can’t exercise the deeper empathy required to understand why women – who have a fundamentally different life experience to them – feel that their safety, rights, and political/social aspirations are being harmed or set back.

it’s not unrelated to the general attitude many (most?) men have to women and girls which lies on a spectrum from general disinterest (except as an accessory to their lives) through to outright antipathy.

The first person who decided to unfriend and block me on Facebook for expressing views contrary to gender ideology used Michfest as an example of the horrible treatment of TiMs. This was circa 2015. In one “discussion” prior to the break, demanded that I answer “do you believe transwomen are women?”; I said no, and he was gone soon thereafter.

Do you believe Jesus is your lord and savior? Do you believe Mohammed got a message from God via an angel called Gabriel?
