Starmer is currently on a mission to oust the few remaining leftwing Labour MPs from the party ahead of the snap election. On Monday, Labour sources leaked to the Times that Diane Abbott would not be permitted to stand as Labour’s candidate in Hackney North and Stoke Newington, despite having had the whip restored.

Amidst intense backlash, including from Tony Blair’s former director of communications and Starmer’s own party racism inspector, Starmer appeared to backtrack, denying to the BBC that Abbott had been barred from standing for Labour.

Whatever. Good news that Russell-Moyle is hobbled.

    Someone…has made what I believe to be a vexatious and politically motivated complaint about my behaviour eight years ago. This is a false allegation that I dispute totally and I believe it was designed to disrupt the next election.

    Diddums. I’m surprised that they bothered to go back as far as eight years, when you’ve engaged much more recently in indisputable, viciously misogynistic behaviour, just over a year ago which, in a sane world, should have resulted in your on-the-spot ejection from the party. We remember your failure to control your “passion.”

    Al Capone got caught on tax evasion, so I guess we should be happy with whatever it was they hung you on, if it gets you out of Parliament, and away from any position that lets you effect law and policy. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
