Worst possible time to have a pinhead in That Office.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday warned Iranian leader Ali Khamenei that he is an “easy target” and that “our patience is wearing thin,” before demanding Tehran surrender in its conflict against Israel.
“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Yeah great, war by social media, that will work out well.
“He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” he wrote. “But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.”
Trump added in a subsequent post: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”
That will definitely work.

Oh, look! Someone else has claimed the title which Trump covets!
So, of course Trump is going to behave like a spiteful middle-schooler would when someone else gets a prefect badge instead of him.
I saw yesterday that Trump had warned, on social media, the residents of Tehran to evacuate immediately. I’m sure all people in Tehran have access to US social media, read Truth Social, and follow Trump. It is astounding how the idiot thinks posts on a little-used social media platform constitute official pronouncements over appropriate channels.
Yep I saw that too. Astounding x infinity.
Trump assumes everyone is as chicken as he is and heads to the bunker at the first sight of protest, just like he did in Season 1. He doesn’t know that in the Iran-Iraq war, iran sent wave after wave of unarmed teenagers to be mowed down by Iraqi machine-guns to sap the enemy’s will to fight. He hasn’t a clue what he’s getting into.
Sackbut: does ANYONE use TruthSocial for anything other than following Trump?
Well if you’re issuing threats like this, the locations of the White House and Mar a Lago aren’t exactly secret. Talking how you think tough guys talk is one thing. Tweeting how you think tough guys talk just makes you look like a pathetic weeny. A pathetic weeny armed with nuclear weapons, but a weeny nonetheless.
Determined, fanatical opponents who don’t care if they survive their mission (see also 9/11), aren’t a phenomenon Trump can relate to.
As for his ‘Unconditional Surrender’ bleat, who, exactly, would Iran surrender to? What would that surrender mean? US and Israeli troops on the ground in Iran? regime change? To whom? I don’t think that many people want the hereditory rump of the corrupt and short lived Pahlavi dynasty back, even if in the short term they might be better than dreadful theocrats. This whole situation is just a mille-feuille of awfulness.
There have been successful regime changes eg Japan and Germany after WWII, after long, costly wars, full occupation and years of nation building – just the sort of thing Trump would be good at.
I ardently hope that Iran does get shot of its horrible theocracy at some point, but I don’t think bombing Tehran will bring it about.
