Love the way they spin it – stop DOGE from ending waste and fraud. Yeah, right. Also, perhaps MTG should send something to Fox, make them come testify? Yeah, not gonna happen.

How are Congresspeople getting money from USAID?

I know libel is hard to prove in the US, but does that qualify?

What a Maroon, there are different libel laws for public figures, I believe. That makes it harder to prove. Still, I would think accusing someone of fraud and corruption should qualify (but probably won’t).

Is it just coincidence that Doge is a historical title given to the most important government official in the Italian city states of Venice and Genoa? It would certainly fit in with Musk’s ego.

Well I think so. I was confused about it for ages because that was the only meaning I knew of.

I assumed it was named partly after “Dogecoin”, which is named after a dog meme called “Doge”. Like Trumpcoin, Dogecoin is a “meme coin”.

Yeah, it’s named for the Dogecoin, but I don’t doubt that he’s aware of the connection with “Doge”. Which is cognate with “Duke” and, perhaps more relevant in this context, “Duce”.

For my part, I heavily doubt that he knows the connection, for the simple fact that that is an item of Italian history, and he has demonstrated the Republican frat bro mentality. History that is not US patriotic revisionism is for lefty librul weenies.

    What did the doge do?

One of these days I’m going to animate that scene with doges.
