Extra pomp

Trump is making an extra special big splash fuss over Mr Saudi Arabia. Bros before hos.

Trump rolled out an elaborate welcome at the White House for Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, who is seeking stealth fighter jets, security assurances and economic promises from the United States.

The arrival ceremony exceeded the typical pomp for a visiting foreign leader: A Marine band played as officers on horseback carried the Saudi and American flags, and advanced fighter jets flew over the White House in a V formation. Mr. Trump greeted Prince Mohammed with a handshake and gave him a pat on the back before they headed inside.

They’re very compatible.

Who wants a great big hug?

    They’re very compatible.

This is a mutually useful consultation. I’m sure Trump has a long list of journalists he’d like to have dismembered.

So does this mean Kushner’s private equity firm is getting another couple of billion from the Saudi sovereign wealth fund?

Trump reaches a new level of evil.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday defended Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman over the killing of Washington Post opinion columnist Jamal Khashoggi, saying “things happen” and that he did not hold the Saudi leader responsible for the 2018 murder despite a U.S. intelligence report assessing the opposite.

Things happen. Yes, journalists routinely wander into embassies only to be brutally murdered and have their body dismembered. Happened to me just yesterday.

“A lot of people didn’t like that gentleman that you’re talking about. Whether you like him or didn’t like him, things happen, but [Mohammed] knew nothing about it,” Trump said in response to a question. “And we can leave it at that. You don’t have to embarrass our guest by asking a question like that.”

Oh, sure, Khashoggi was murdered, but he wasn’t well liked, and it’s more important to be nice to our murderous guest. I’m sure Miss Manners would agree.
