An exwemist pothition

How it started

How it went on

It’s “extremist” to say that men are men.

Here’s the thing. Reality is what it is. Fiddling with the names doesn’t change the reality except in cases where the naming really is subject to change. There are plenty of social names that can indeed be changed, but it doesn’t follow and it’s not the case that therefore men can be women. Male and female are not purely social categories.

I’m confused. The Workers Party of Britain seems to be saying that trans “women” are men, but Craig Murray is calling that an extremist view. As I wasn’t aware of his existence I looked him up, and found that he is a member of the Workers Party of Britain. Is he arguing with his party, or does it mean something else?

Meanwhile, in another part of the forest, I had an MRI this afternoon to investigate persistent back pain. When they put me in the machine I found it less noisy than I expected, and it stopped sooner than I expected. The two women technicians told me that there was a problem and that I should wait until they were ready to try again. When the time arrived I asked them what the problem had been. It appeared that they had had my name wrong, and also my sex. I said that I had never changed my name or my sex, and they laughed. However, this is France, and if it had been in Scotland I might have found myself accused of extreme hatred.

Athel, he joined the WPB in 2024 to stand as the party candidate for Blackburn in that year’s general election. He came third in the polls, and left the party in 2025, tried to get accepted as a candidate for Alba in the 2026 Scottish election but his candidacy was blocked so he then joined Jeremy Corbyn’s newly-formed Your Party. He has also been a member of the Lib-Dems and the SNP, as well as several minor parties, and stood as an Independent.

I’ve encountered him before; he’s a complete horse’s ass about women and trans “women” – utterly blind to why women might object.

And smug and pleased with himself besides.

Oh, he definitely has disdain for women. When the late Alex Salmond (former First Minister of Scotland and twice leader of the SNP) was on trial in 2020 on charges of sexual assault and attempted rape, the judge issued an order forbidding the publication of the names or any potentially identifying information of the women testifying against Salmond. Murray, who supported Salmond, went ahead and published potentially identifying information. He was tried for contempt of court and sentenced to eight months in prison, though he served only four months.

He’s also a bit of a conspiracy theorist, believing that it was Israel, not Russia, that ordered the Skripal poisoning in Salisbury, making it look it was a Russian op to discredit Putin. He is, of course, very pro-Palestine.
