Trump’s name is gone, but they wouldn’t let us watch. Petty whiney snotty all the way to the end.
No doubt the next headlines will be Trump nukes DC.

Probably not a bad idea. I can think of less appropriate things to do to DC, especially nowadays. Randy Newman’s Political Science in reverse.
This morning, AP updated this article to say the Trump lettering is all down (Saturday, June 13, 11:41 Eastern).
From what I’ve read (maybe elsewhere), the removal was legally 100% good to go one minute before midnight, and the lettering was probably removed between midnight and 3:30am.
The AP article includes two photos of a tarp symmetric around where the lettering was (also taken this morning). The tarp might be a standard safety precaution, although I have not read that.

The tarps may be a standard or required safety measure, to keep any construction debris that may fall contained within the footprint of the scaffolding, or to shield the workers from wind and rain
I have read at least two people saying a few minutes with a cherry picker would have been just fine.
I’ll believe it when I see it
The official declaration that the signage was removed, along with other references to Trump:

The signage was installed by cherry picker lifts. I imagine the removal with scaffolding and a tarp might include repairing or replacing the marble panels, but I have not read that.
