It cannot trump fairness for girls and women

There have been some claims that Martina Navratilova has changed her mind about the fairness of male-bodied people competing against girls and women in sport, via a BBC documentary that aired a few days ago. (I haven’t seen it.)

She says no she hasn’t.

Consternation. She still thinks girls and women should be able to compete against girls and women??!

“… But, for now, I think we need to include as many transgender athletes as possible within elite sports, while keeping it as level a playing field as possible.”

Meaning, in the league determined by their birth sex.

Holms, it could be a special trans league. But no, then they would be back in the same spot of competing with other male-bodied people, and winning would take more effort. But oh, no, that isn’t why they want to play on girls’ teams at all – it is because they are girls! And if they can’t play on girls’ teams, apparently they can’t play sports at all! Because reasons.
