It really is just part of the entire pattern of this administration. She fits in nicely.
This should really just have been a form letter. We didn’t need the whole sob story in the public record.
Initial, albeit unsubstantiated reports from anonymous “friends” were that she didn’t want to send the ascertainment letter out of “loyalty to the administration, which had given her the job”. That sounds a lot more likely given Trump’s obsession with the “loyalty” of his underlings, than that she had some pressing constitutional duty that she was observing. AFAIK, she’s not even a constitutional lawyer, so she couldn’t have even made a reasoned decision along those lines, anyway.
Would there have been anything in it worth reading anyway? The form may be puerile but the substance is of no consequence.
