Jolyon speaks for women

But what are trans rights?

What trans rights are women more supportive of?

He probably means some leading question version, as in “Do you support trans rights?”, as opposed to an actual specific spelled-out claimed right such as “the right for men to be treated as women in all settings and circumstances because that’s how they identify.” I think when people hear leading questions like “Do you support trans rights?” they answer yes because who wants to say “I don’t believe in X rights”? But most people don’t realize that what’s meant by the question is pretty much “Do you think trans people should change everything to suit themselves with no one else having any right to say ‘But that doesn’t suit us’?”

We can’t even have a conversation about this because they just won’t do it.

Or, my favorite: “Do you think trans people have a right to exist?”

    Here’s some polling data:

    https://yougov.co.uk/topics/politics/articles-reports/2020/07/16/where-does-british-public-stand-transgender-rights

    https://news.gallup.com/poll/350174/mixed-views-among-americans-transgender-issues.aspx

He’s right that women support every single transgender issue more than men, at least in every poll I’ve seen. But some issues such as transwomen in sports still don’t get majority support from women.

I’m surprised by that result. Maybe it’s women trying to be nicer. They really should stop that.

I expect we’re eventually going to hear an announcement from Jolyon coming out as trans. What else explains this fanaticism?

    “…the so-called ECHR…”

Such a pouty brat when he doesn’t get his way.

ECHR Chair Kishwer Falkner wrote 51 per cent of the population to mean female sex as a class. I see this from the top down as:

    1) Define female sex as a class,

    2) Identify rights to balance between classes,

    3) Polling might help with the balancing. Of course, we should expect polling to show a range of views within female sex as a class. I can check this with Black as a class. Do we require Blacks be unanimous to acknowledge Black as a class? Hell, no! And we should acknowledge female sex as a class the same way.

Jolyon Maugham is blind to the existence of 1 and 2, so he understands none of this.
