One, Putin probably also thinks dogs are not cats. Two, the feminist women you’re smearing aren’t “anti-trans”: we’re against the empty, brain-dead ideology that says men are women if they say they are and women must agree no matter what, and be punished and ostracized if we refuse.

I think Jason Stanley may be implying that Putin is paying off the feminist women whom he is smearing.
Nah, he’s just clutching at straws. “You know who else doesn’t think men can turn into women? Putin, that’s who!!!!!!!!” Leaving aside the fact that so does almost all of humanity. People are laughing at him on that thread. I’d laugh with them but I’m too revolted.
Putin is gender critical, so being gender critical is obviously evil. Hitler was reportedly vegetarian, so being vegetarian is obviously evil as well. Also using the “anti-trans” label when he knows feminists aren’t against trans people generally, even if he pretends not to. There is no nuance here, it’s peurile propaganda. How did this guy ever get his degree?
So as a “philosophy professor” he should write a scholarly article or at least a short essay on his views, instead of popping off on twitter like a troll, and show us all how stupid he really is. Yale? Really?

One would really expect a professional philosopher to know that guilt by association is a form of argumentum ad hominem. Considering that’s a fallacy, one would further expect a professional philosopher to refrain from putting forward such an argument.
