Honorable exception

I could find only one headline that doesn’t lie about the murder of Carlo Secondino. Even the New York Post says “woman” in the headline. Newsweek is the one truth-teller.

Who Is Nikki Secondino? Trans Woman Accused of Murdering Father

A New York transgender woman has been arrested by police and is accused of killing her father and critically injuring her sister, according to reports.

Why don’t they all report it that way? Why do they say “woman” and “daughter” in the headlines?

I doubt whether it matters much, but at least Nikki Secondino look more like a real woman than most of the pretend women i’ve seen pictures of.

We know why they do this. TWAW. But because they’re considered a marginalized minority, the “difference without a difference “ is only mentioned when 1) they’re breaking a repressive barrier (“First Trans Woman Sets World Record in Decathlon “) 2) they’ve done something admirable (“Trans Woman Rescues Dog Trapped in Well”) or 3.) they’re a victim of possible foul play (“Trans Woman Pushed in Front of Bus.”)

It’s the same rules they use with race, which we don’t really notice or object to. The problem is with that TWAW part.

A ‘transgender woman’ is too imprecise. There is no agreed terminology. That ‘transgender woman’ could be a biological female dressed up as a man, Marlene Dietrich style, or a bloke in drag, pretending he’s a woman, and fooling some but by no means all.

There’s a YouTube interview with this young man in which he mentions having been diagnosed with a personality disorder at a young age.

The rest of the interview is him droning on in a self-absorbed way, mostly about his modeling career.

Correction: I went back and listened more carefully. He says his first psychologist his parents consulted diagnosed him with gender dysphoria; the second, he says, said “gender dysphoria or possibly personality disorder.”

It’s a difficult interview to listen to as it’s both dull and irritating (Nikki is constantly fiddling with his hair.) But if he’s to be believed, Nikki has had the support of his parents from a young age.

Note too, the way all the news outlets obeyed David DePape’s pronoun request. Despite the fairly obvious trolling involved.
