It’s written down
Good grief. What a mess of a system.
Also, side note – how does Helen do that? Talk quickly to get all the information out without any stumbling or losing track or umming or you knowing or like-ing or sort of-ing?
Anyway – the system. Yer trans person goes to the cops and says “This woman said these harassy things to me” and the cops record it, no questions asked, no evidence or corroboration or oath, just record it, so now it’s on the person’s record, end of story, have a nice day, mind the gap.
How is that any kind of way to deal with people and laws?

Helen Joyce is so monumentally impressive to meet and speak to! Almost certainly my favourite guest on my old podcast. (Or certainly tied for first-place with one or two other absolute gems.)
I have no doubt that her academic background in mathematics — I believe she’s got a math PhD — has helped to refine her clear, logical way of thinking and communicating. Just listening to her talk about the gender mess is refreshing and inspiring — like bathing one’s mind in a crisp spring fountain.
(I’m not good at similes. I’m sorry.)
I’ve watched every interview that Helen and Kathleen Stock have done over the last 2 years; in Helen’s case I think practice and reaching the ‘no more fucks to give’ stage allow her to do that superpower move.
Yes but also talent/skill.
And a lot of hard work
I find it quite extraordinary that the police should adopt a way of doing things that actively encourages malicious accusations.
