of everything he says

No, see, that’s where you go so very wrong.

It’s that “the comedic nature of everything he says” bit that’s so wrong. That’s one of the things that’s so repellent about him. Not one of the most important, for sure, but definitely one of the most annoying. Maddening. Make you twitch infuriating. He thinks he’s a comedy genius and he’s not. He’s not funny at all, ever.

It’s quite a common thing, people who think they’re funny but aren’t. Bill Murray specialized in being that guy some decades ago, and he was good at it. Trump does it without rehearsal.

Says the baseball guy. I’m sure his opinion is important, to someone I guess? I see loads of sycophantic laughter and applause for Trump’s carryings on, but no, he’s not funny or clever in the least. The loyalists laugh when he laughs, on cue. That doesn’t make him funny. He’s a stupid asshole, and can only be appreciated by other stupid assholes.

Murray is a mean spirited jerk who plays dimwits, at least that’s his typecast, but funny? I never thought so.

That’s a tad gratuitous. I didn’t say he was funny, I said he was good at playing people who think they’re funny but aren’t.

Trump thinks he’s smart and therefore funny. Murray plays characters who are dimwits and think they are funny. Neither formula works for me, both are based on deception. Murray in real life is quite a different character. Maybe that makes him a good actor, I dunno? And Trump has played the role of an entertainer, despite him being unentertaining.

I think we agree on the unfunniness.
