But sir what about us?

Oh gosh, that’s worrying.

…Since declaring a Transfemicide State of Emergency, our administration has strengthened the City’s capacity to support LGBTQ+ Chicagoans. This framework builds on that work by centering the voices and lived experiences of trans Chicagoans to chart a path toward a safer, more connected city.

So what are the numbers? Please to quantify the transfemicide. Google AI obliges with:

Advocacy organizations and media investigations identified at least 15 transgender and gender non-conforming people—predominantly Black and Latinx trans women—violently killed in Chicago since 2015.

Oh. At least one per year.

Women?

In Chicago, approximately 50 to 80 women are killed per year. Women make up about 10% to 15% of the city’s overall homicide victims, with Black women disproportionately affected.

I wonder if Chicago has ever declared a femicide state of emergency.

If you type “chicago femicide state of emergency” into Google you get links to transfemicide. No links to femicide. None.

Not to mention, those transwomen killed are in another demographic that has a much higher murder rate than trans – they are Black. Without knowing the motive, it’s impossible to know if they were murdered because they were trans or because they were Black. The numbers are such that the odds favor the latter.

According to Google, Black residents make up 3/4 of the people murdered in Chicago each year. I suspect they might not have been murdered for being trans.

Now transactivists can broadcast this official “declaration” as part of their ongoing transperbolic moral blackmail campaign. Maybe they’ll be able to get Mayor Johnson to bump it up to “Impending Trans Genocide” in a day or two.
