Perhaps it’s connected to his aversion to expertise and competence. Why leave health care decisions in the hands of health care providers? What do they know that somebody who knows the money end of things can’t override? Besides, sick people are losers.

oh good god. I actually work for one of those companies – that’s our CEO, fourth from the left. He sent a company-wide email after the meeting. It was pretty anodyne. He said, “The President asked good questions,” which could mean anything.
He definitely supports the ACA, that much I know.
aaaaaand, I forgot to mention the thing I came here to say. Occasionally a health insurer is also a health care provider. Kaiser is the biggest of those that I know of.
But yes, that’s usually not the case, so I think we can still conclude that Donnie doesn’t understand what insurance is.
Well, Trump probably thinks that paying for something is the same thing as providing it. Money is his only form of communication, since he has no command of the English language beyond about third-grade level. (I apologize to any third graders out there; I know you can think better than this man, you’re still just developing the vocabulary to match your thoughts, but he only has the vocabulary to match his thoughts).
