Is it legal for a sitting President to be out of his tree?

So…everybody around him must be thinking it’s all over, right? He’s too mentally unstable to have the [shudder] nuclear codes?

That was 6:30 a.m. at Taco Del Mar, so he probably hadn’t “just found out” anything, let alone that. No, I don’t believe that his staff sit up all night finding out stuff so that they can tell him it at six in the morning when he’s off resting his signing arm at the golf resort.

Then, two hours later, he got back to the serious business.

So it’s official now that he’s fucking batshit crazy, right? The kind of crazy that could decide to order the nukes on a whim at any moment?

If Clinton had won, and some scriptwriters had decided to make an ‘alternative timeline’ show, about a USA where Trump had won, they simply couldn’t have written anything this bizarre.

The perseveration, the paranoia, the repetitive speech, the harking back to earlier ‘days of glory’ and the lack of social filters, all point to someone in the middle stage of dementia.

This doesn’t sound like it came from staff. Trump probably got the wiretapping crap off InfoWars or some similarly credible news source. I can easily believe that he wakes up and scours tabloid and conspiracy sites on his phone or tablet while he’s taking a dump.

Sastra – oh I know, I was just responding to his fatuous “I just found out” claim. That’s surely meant to suggest that he “just found out” from the kind of source a normal not-demented president would cite, which at that time of day would more likely be staff than anyone who doesn’t work for him.

Sastra, not Infowars this time. It was Breitshite.

@tiggerthewing #1 I completely agree. If this was a TV show, I’d have given it up as badly written and acted long ago.

    Per the New York Times:

“It would have been difficult for federal agents, working within the law, to obtain a wiretap order to target Mr. Trump’s phone conversations. It would have meant that the Justice Department had gathered sufficient evidence to persuade a federal judge that there was probable cause to believe he had committed a serious crime or was an agent of a foreign power, depending on whether it was a criminal investigation or a foreign intelligence one.”

Perhaps they should hand him a pair of ball-bearings?
