The coordination may have taken place
And today the FBI is telling us some of what it has.
The FBI has information that indicates associates of President Donald Trump communicated with suspected Russian operatives to possibly coordinate the release of information damaging to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, US officials told CNN.
This is partly what FBI Director James Comey was referring to when he made a bombshell announcement Monday before Congress that the FBI is investigating the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia, according to one source.
The FBI is now reviewing that information, which includes human intelligence, travel, business and phone records and accounts of in-person meetings, according to those U.S. officials. The information is raising the suspicions of FBI counterintelligence investigators that the coordination may have taken place, though officials cautioned that the information was not conclusive and that the investigation is ongoing.
Maybe it’s all a big misunderstanding. Maybe.
One of the obstacles the sources say the FBI now faces in finding conclusive intelligence is that communications between Trump’s associates and Russians have ceased in recent months given the public focus on Russia’s alleged ties to the Trump campaign. Some Russian officials have also changed their methods of communications, making monitoring more difficult, the officials said.

It’s unfortunate that Wikileaks alerted the Trump team and the Russians that the CIA was monitoring them via their microwaves.
This is such a horror show, it’s hard to comprehend the magnitude of it. And it’s not at all clear to me that the Constitution is equipped to handle it. Any one of the myriad issues, perhaps, but all of them together with a compliant Congress means many of those mechanisms are effectively shut down.
The founders were concerned about a foreign agent gaining control of the US government. At the time they were afraid of us Brits (with good reason, admittedly) and so instituted that frustratingly vague ‘natural born’ rule. They clearly never envisioned such a ‘natural born’ citizen as Donald J. Trump, nor a criminally negligent political party that is willing to overlook offense after offense for party political gain.
Has anyone seen any evidence that Donnie was in any way naturally born?

@Rrr – good point. Has anyone actually seen Donald’s birth certificate? If they did, what steps did they take to confirm that it was authentic?
