Quite apart from the generally vomitous nature of all of that… What about Trump saluting? As I understand it only the military are supposed to salute, and then only when in uniform. Reagan started a modern history of Presidents returning salutes to military personnel on a consistent basis – apparently he asked the ranking marine commander and was told no one would tell him he couldn’t. However, Trump is saluting a monument and is a civilian. I know people criticised Obama both for saluting and not (guy was never going to win with the tough crowd), so what gives?
IOKIYAR. Besides, saluting is fine. By his own account, Trump’s a veteran of his “personal Vietnam.” Despite a medical deferment from the draft, Trump nevertheless served his country. As he told Howard Stern, he was “a great and very brave solider.” As he described his life in the ’80s, “Dating is like being in Vietnam. You’re the equivalent of a soldier going over to Vietnam.” The danger? Vaginas. According to Trump, they’re “landmines.”

Tangentially related in terms of comments being difficult to read owing to obscure acronyms and other affectations: there used to be a regular commenter at one site (poss. Dawkins’) whose comments were always completely vowel-free. Why? No bloody idea*, but it suggests an over-inflated sense of self-importance to assume that people will go to the trouble of solving a puzzle to read the comments.
* possibly irritable vowel syndrome.
Acolyte, that was a (gentle) punishment meted out for trolling, I think — filtering out all vowels in order to persuade the perp to improve or leave. It had a fancy term too, whch frgt. ;-)
