A standing ovation could make sense if he’d been away because of a broken leg or drug rehab or writing a book, but since in fact he was away because it became public that he likes to abuse women sexually, the standing ovation is pretty much a hard punch in the face to women. Again.
If a coworker sexually assaulted you at the office, then turned up unannounced after a ten month vacation, and just sat down at his desk and resumed working, and everyone welcomed him back with applause, that’d be pretty fucked up.

Here's what Louis CK could do: use his immense wealth to establish an organization that identifies budding female comedians and matches them with resources, connections, bookings, and mentors. Repair some of the damage. That's what actual remorse might look like.

Meanwhile, a black actor who had starred in E.R., and along with fellow cast members had complained about on-set harassment, sexism and racism, has been shot and killed by police, apparently while undergoing seizures.
Wonder if Louis will write a joke about that into his next gig?

Aaaand next up we have, live on stage at Aretha Franklin’s funeral, the ‘man of God’ leading the service introducing singer Ariana Grande by saying that he saw her name on the programme and thought she was a new item on Taco Bell’s menu (ha-ha ‘cos she’s Hispanic, see) then apparently having a sly feel of her breast after she sang Natural Woman (no accusations of transphobia so far, but give it time).
So what did the vicar have to say for himself?
Of course, Ms. Grande was wearing a short dress in church, which is obviously just as inappropriate as the vicar’s groping, according to one twitter user. Yep, a man has a sly feel of a woman’s side-boob (a move I’ve seen too many times) and the big twitter debate is whether her dress was too short for church.

AoS, I told my husband about that, and about 30 minutes later he sat down with the local paper, which carried a story about Aretha’s funeral. They had a picture of Ms. Grande with the bishop, and nary a word about the fondling or the racism. Just a nice, sweet story about the funeral of a major celebrity. No need to mention the humiliation of another woman who was part of the funeral, because that might embarrass a bishop.
I’m ever-so slightly impressed that the paper didn’t mention her ‘disrespectful’ (read ‘slutty’) choice of attire for church, what with you being in God country.
I just saw a video of that – the bishop groping Ariana Grande. It’s sick-making – he keeps pulling her in and moving his hand forward on her breast – while making his creepy racist “joke.”
