I loved how the SDNY sentencing memorandum brought up Cohen’s nasty, threatening voice mail to a reporter, in which he vowed to ruin the reporter and his publication with legal proceedings. When Cohen had a scrap of power, he abused it to intimidate people.
He deserves an extra year just for the structure of that tweet. ‘[D]efrauding America and perjury’? Even if it were possible to defraud an actual country rather than discrete entities such as its government or citizens, I seriously doubt that perjury can be a victim of fraud.
