Is Munroe Bergdorf a Russian troll?

Munroe Bergdorf got “facial feminization” surgery a month ago, and posts glam shots of the result.

Fine; whatever; knock yourself out; but don’t be telling women how to do feminism correctly.

Here’s a crazy idea – how about we let feminism remain activisim for social issues linked to femaleness? There’s nothing in that that says ‘white women only’ in that rough definition, just like there’s nothing anti-female inherent in anti-racism activism. There’s nothing stopping people be intersectional in their activism, but it would be nice if those people didn’t shit on those that are primarily working against one particular social ill.

Or, if a person is going to do that, it would be nice if they did so consistently. If it is okay to be rancid towards those that are working exclusively on feminist issues, why not also be rancid towards those that are working exclusively on anti-racism issues? Or what about anti-homophobia campaigners who have not taken up some additional cause, how about shitting all over them and sabotaging their efforts with character assassination too? I’ve not seen any such thing even once; people that work on feminism qua feminism are the designated punching bag.

Issues relating to femaleness – the single largest demograhic in the world – last again. I guess women are nature’s punching bag or something.

Because women. That’s all. Women need to STFU, if they don’t want physical, sexual, verbal, and emotional abuse.

My playwriting group is considering a play for this year’s festival that proposes that gropers should not have to worry that they will suffer consequences for groping just because some entitled bitch doesn’t want to have her nipples grabbed by a poor, led-on, desperate young man. If they accept this play, in the face of #MeToo, and in the face of many of their female participants being against doing it, I will rally the troops…I will do my best to call out every feminist in the entire Midwest to come and be present at the talk-back of the play. It’s the least I can do.

Not a Russian troll, but I’d say a troll, as she seems to stir up attention-seeking trouble every chance she gets:

In America it was white women that received the right to vote first. Black women received it at much later date. It is details like these which highlight the importance of intersectional feminism, different women have different experiences of womanhood…

These conditions stood in the way of working class women and largely women of colour, as the amount of women of colour who owned property 100 years ago was very very minimal.

Just the sort of deepity one would expect. ‘Intersectionality’ means that everything is always about MEEEEE!

I could be mistaken, but didn’t Black men obtain the right to vote before White women?

John the D, don’t forget to say what you’re quoting! I had to go looking – the source is a tweet by Munroe Bergdorf.

It’s over-simplified crap. Constitutionally speaking black men “received the right to vote” decades before any women did. Practically speaking it was made extremely difficult (to the point of just plain impossible) for most to all black people to vote in Southern states until the Voting Rights Act in 1965. The SCOTUS ruling in Shelby is rolling back the VRA. No, it’s not true that “it was white women that received the right to vote first.”

FYI – The Suffragettes were white supremacists who were fighting for WHITE womens rights – they specifically left black women out of the movement. It is not 100 years since women got the vote it’s 100 years since WHITE women got the vote. Black women couldnt vote until MUCH later
