But totally worth it to get a cultist religious fanatic on the Supreme Court so that she can make a majority to force women to stay pregnant when they don’t want to.
Is the urgency here purely because Trump plans to appeal the election results and expects that packing the court will give him the win? I am really fucking disturbed by how many Republicans are okay with this. I know we’ve had evidence for many years that they’re alright with lying, cheating, manipulating and intimidating as long as they can retain power, but every time I think they can’t up the ante any further they do. It feels like we’re at the edge of a precipice and so many people seem blind to just how bad the situation is…
Well they need to make sure it happens before the entire government flips, probably also so that insurance companies can dick us before the new enrollment period starts just so that we don’t get another year of passable healthcare.
I don’t think McConnell really believes he can use the court to steal the election, just Trump’s orbit. Which really works out fine for the Republicans as a whole; they can cockblock everything a Democratic government does until 2-4 years down the road when the Senate flips again. Then just wait a bit ’til another Republican becomes president and stack the court some more.
