Here Truth Matters
Aaron Rupar is following the January 6 hearing for us.
Sgt. Gonell gets emotional recalling how when he returned home early on the morning on Jan 7, he had to push his wife away because of all the chemicals he had on his clothes pic.twitter.com/91LBpd1LVi

Fanone: "I was aware enough to recognize I was at risk of being stripped of and killed with my own firearm. I was electrocuted again and again and again with a taser. I'm sure I was screaming, but I don't think I could even hear my own voice." pic.twitter.com/2qgmASp6n1

Fanone pounds the table as he says, "the indifference shown to my colleagues is disgraceful!"
"Nothing has prepared me to address those elected members of our government who continue to deny the events of that day and in doing so betray their oath of office," he adds pic.twitter.com/LrJOxT0ueh

Cheney asks Sgt. Gonell how he feels when he hears Trump describe the mob as a "loving crowd." He says it's "upsetting" and that "it's a pathetic excuse for his behavior, for something that he himself helped create … I'm still recovering from those 'hugs and kisses' that day" pic.twitter.com/cnK1s826CE

“Trump sent us.” Good enough for a jail sentence in my view.
Terrifying.
There’s surprisingly little reporting of this over here. Some of that footage was on the news last night, but nobody seemed to know what to make of it. It’s mainly because of this site that I can put it into the right context. Thanks, Ophelia! I think.
I watched some of the security camera footage from that day obsessively at the time. The whole thing was way too close. It didn’t happen so we relaxed so we don’t really grasp how close it was, which is just how human minds work, I think, but…it was SO horribly close. And it’s far from over.
