If you didn’t see the overwhelming passivity and cowardice of Willy Thomas’ teammates’ and competitors’ parents, the spectators, and the governing body of women’s collegiate sports, to do anything but refuse to cheer, in the wake of his (genitals unchecked because, duh) runaway wins due to his being a male, than you haven’t been around any sports that are relevant to this issue there, Dave. No one threw any tantrums, and Willy was able to cheat these young women with impugnity. Just a single, high profile example. Wake up, sports dude.

But really, Dave, how do we keep boys from competing against girls? What’s that? Oh, I see. No boy would ever say the words, “Yes, I’m a girl,” even if only for the duration of a track event, because being a girl is just such a shameful, humiliating thing. I get it now. It’s so obvious!
But… but… we *do* do genital inspections. Sometimes they’re in utero; sometimes they’re just after birth, in the few seconds immediately before the words “Congratulations, Mrs Smith: It’s a boy!” or “Congratulations, Mrs Jones: It’s a girl!”.
They’re generally very accurate indeed: so accurate that there’s almost never any need to repeat the procedure.
Enzyme, genitals are observed at every pediatrician’s appointment., even if it is just a peek. People opposing this law are confusing issues around male athletes with certain DSD (intersex) conditions that caused them to be identified as female at birth with boys who identify as female. TRAs insist minors don’t get genital surgery. If that is the case, it isn’t a matter of figuring out who is a girl, it is figuring out who is a boy, and that is pretty obvious.
I believe the “genital inspections” fear is based on the idea that it is impossible to tell who is a boy and who is a girl, right on up through teenage years, without examining genitals, therefore all the the girls who want to play on the female team would be paraded in front of a team of perverts and forced to lower their panties, at least once, perhaps every season, every sport. The fear is preposterous. In most cases sex is obvious, and for the small number of cases where it isn’t clear, there are many ways to make the determination, such as birth certificate or mouth swab. Plus it only needs to be done once.
Maybe a certification by a physician, some sports require medical exams anyway. Kind of a sports license of sorts. Of course the physician would have to also be qualified to determine biological sex in accordance with objective reality. I would say birth certificates, but those are being falsified too. I suppose a sports license could be falsified too, but either way it would give officials something to verify. Then at least there would be documentation rather than some unverifiable feeling in their head, along with a concensus of idiots.
The “sports license” or perhaps “health certificate” idea is fine, but the main point to me is that it is quite easy to tell who is female most of the time, and the trans activists are pretending it is not. They are envisioning a “sex verification” for all female athlete candidates, and there is no good reason for such a thing other than blind adherence to the rules. Only those who are, shall we say, suspected of being male need to be checked. Or perhaps the trans activists would expect to question the sex of all female athletes if the sex of any male-pretending-to-be-female athlete is questioned.
Sack @7 I completely agree, things like this shouldn’t be necessary, and especially not applied universally. If the trans people and allies keep pushing for the elimination of sexed categories, then something like would be necessary in the future. But yeah, the downright denial that young men like Willy Thomas or Zach Bridges are essentially biological males, which is quite obvious to everyone (even if they stand by and do nothing), then it’s going to have to be legislated more strictly, in some way or other. MTF trans people participating in women only sports is a zero sum game. Every one of them who is indulged in this fantasy both eliminates a young woman’s chance of winning, and displaces one from even competing. Every single time.
