It feels like 2023 Twitter

Steal everything. Steal the oppression and subordination of women, and when women push back, steal the genocides of the Nazis.

I doubt that many, if any, are planning to flee. This is just hyperbole for attention. They ALWAYS do that (that was hyperbole for emphasis).

Is this the TiM version of “I’ll take my ball and go home!” ?

This one of the ways that dishonest, obfuscating reportage has made things sound dire and sinister. “Banning transgender youth from sports” sounds a lot worse than “Keeping boys out of girl’s sports.’ “Banning gender affirming care” sounds so much more threatening than “Stopping experimental surgeries on children” or “Halting double mastectomies on young girls” or “Preventing child mutilation and permanent sterility.” Not being allowed everything you demand is not oppression. Keeping children safe and intact until they grow up and are mature enough to make such decisions is not a bad thing; anyone who believes otherwise has an agenda to push and isn’t really interested in what’s best for children. They are welcome to leave if having their demands questioned, critiqued, and resisted makes them feel uncomfortable. Maybe it’s not a bad thing if these people feel “unsafe”; after all their agenda is an actual threat to children.

Not Bruce, I always sort of think of “I’ll take my ball and go home!” as the person who owns the ball, leaving others unable to play. The trans don’t have any such thing; we can go along with our lives and things without them in the picture. I guess that’s why they’re so insistent we include them: we don’t need them, but they need us.

I’d be interested to know where they plan to seek asylum.

There are many places around the world that are less tolerant than the U.S. and the U.K. of people who do not conform to gender norms, and not many that are more.

May I recommend Iran? Definitely a great place to be and very trans- friendly.

This is just another rehashing of “I’m moving to Canada/Hungary” but with an additional layer of fake persecution.
