Also, completely irrelevant but hilarious – she’s got the umlaut in the wrong place in her own name!! It’s supposed to be on the e, so that people know it rhymes with showy as opposed to show.
I half expected the guy in the white shirt to shout the slogan from the old Harry Enfield sketch “WOMAN! Know your limits!”

The pedantry police are here to insist that it is a diaresis, not an umlaut. Then again, if you cannot even place it correctly, it’s just alphabet bling. I think some parents have even been known to threaten to revoke a daughter’s diaresis if she renders it as two little circles.

Alan, thanks – as in Brontë, I just learned. I had a feeling umlaut was wrong…
Since it’s just there for decoration I think it can be justly classified as the umlaut.
Perhaps it’s meant to let us know it’s pronounced “Zer.”
