It could be real, but it does have a not quite real look to it; I lean towards it being fake. Or perhaps that is just my hope speaking.

It looks unlikely to me. I think it’s the inelegance of the 4 pieces of tape. If they were going to do it they would do it more elegantly.

On the other hand the silly poster itself looks very authentic.

The positioning of the sign on the door, blocking the sight line into the lab.

Not the typical position for signs. That suggests fake/altered image to me.

Ah yes, that too. Altogether it looks quite unprofessional. Probably fake.

The poster does look real, interesting that the only example of it is this ‘photo’ though.

An expensive microscope in a high traffic area!? – not likely.

I can’t tell if it’s real or not, either, but the tape doesn’t seem so odd to me. A lot of students tended to tape things up like that. I agree that the microscope does seem a bit precarious for what I would expect.

Now that people mention it, the microscope does look oddly placed.

My vote is for fake. The door handle lukes too clean to be real. It looks like it was built through CGI/AI, rather than being found in the wild. The white lab coat conveniently in line with the microscope also looks like an attempt to scream”LAB!” at casual viewers.
