Even the ‘relocation’ of February 1942 was not carried out with such reckless incompetence. The impulsive cruelty on display today is the sort of thing Genghis Khan might order.
PS: I stumbled upon a reference to the ‘Ni’ihau Incident’ yesterday. I’m amazed that such a thing isn’t being pushed to rationalize Roosevelt’s order in hindsight.
If he were forced to live in those conditions, would he call it perfect? No. It’s perfect because it’s awful. He requires the awful to be ramped up to punish immigrants for not being white, not being rich, not being born in the US, and for daring to want a little bit of what we have.
Just an idea, but how about providing some hospital workers, doctors, and nurses, Donnie?
