I read about this on Facebook. Shocking behaviour. Previous generations had youthful gang wars too, of course; in my own lifetime there have been mods against rockers, skinheads against anyone who looked vaguely non-white, punks against emos, etc. But never would I have expected to see men claiming to be anti-fascism so determinedly, violently, against middle-aged women having a chat.
@1, I do recall how sexist men on the further left were back in the 1960s and how suburban moms were derided as being bougie and conformist, etc. What we’re seeing now isn’t terribly different.
Since vandalism is a crime, does that mean the police will finally act?
Oh, silly me. Why would they? This is just women being vandalized (and a library, of course, but libraries are elitist institutions that let women say things some people don’t like).

It wasn’t just vandalizing cars. The men attacked the women with pepper spray, beat them, and ripped phones and go-pros off the women who were recording. Some unconnected by-standers were also attacked.
Police were called but did not respond.

Portland isn’t exactly awash in police officers post 2020… they can barely keep on top of the gang violence. Portland cops also tend to be from outside the city in exurban/rural areas and are sometimes a bit Proud Boy/militia adjacent, so don’t be pretending they’re like the London Met all covered in toothpaste coloured flags…
Hell, you’re probably safer having a women’s event anywhere on TERF Island as opposed to Portland.
There is only one side that does this. That is shocking and frightening.
