Not guilty
This day really has been a package of horrors.
The Bundys and their friends have all been acquitted.
Ammon and Ryan Bundy and five of their followers, charged in the armed takeover of a federally owned Oregon wildlife sanctuary in January, were acquitted Thursday of federal conspiracy and weapons charges.
The verdict brings to a close a case that gripped the nation earlier this year with its public debate about government powers, public lands and constitutional rights.
And sends a message to all white right-wing fanatics that they can probably grab a national park or wildlife refuge and get away with it, if they go in heavily armed enough. It sends a message to all non-white people that we are one fucked up country.
This makes me sick.
What. The. Fuck!
This is unbelievable, even in this country. Theft from the federal government? And they let them get away with it – expect another take over very soon.
That is fucking insane. How? Why? What would these bastards have to have done to get convicted?

They just replaced a juror yesterday with an alternate juror (probably for good reason: he said he was biased against the Bundy’s, so say some other jurors) [and he once was an employee for the same Wildlife service in Oregon that is involved in all this.]. The alternate juror did observe the trial along with the other jurors, but was not involved in the jury deliberation afterwards. The judge then instructed the jury to begin all deliberations over again (about two week’s worth) from the beginning as if they had never deliberated, in order to include the new jury member into the deliberation from scratch.
After less that a day they are all acquitted.
Can this be appealed successfully? Don’t know.
Should’ve had the Guard handle it… the wrong message is getting sent here.
They told everyone what they were going to do, they did it, and they documented their doing it. How is it possible that they were acquitted?
Release all Native Americans in North Dakota. Where was the tear gas in Oregon?
This is Trump’s world now. We’re just living in it.
If it’s not Trump’s World, it’s at least the world of his followers.
The question is, is this now Trump-opia, or “The Age of the Bully”?
Either way, I’m not sure I can adapt.
