I am as anti-monarchy as they come but I involuntarily gasped at this. Guess the indoctrination worked after all. But seriously, even without the usual Royal protocols, this was just astonishingly rude way to behave to one’s host.
I don’t think it’s even about her status. The “optics” are bad even if she’s there to clean the loo. Well ok she’s not dressed to clean the loo, so they’re bad even if she’s a cleaner there for a nice day out.
