The dignity of the office

The morning Donnie.

It’s disgusting that he thinks he gets to say anything at any time about “fake news” when he’s been such a dishonest and determined promoter of actual fake news himself. I know I just said that yesterday, but attention to Donnie from Queens requires a lot of repetition. Birther fake news, the Central Park 5 fake news, “Crooked Hillary” fake news, those jobs at Carrier fake news, to name just a few.

Also – it is beyond inappropriate for a president-elect to try to suppress legitimate news organizations. We have a free press. He wasn’t elected dictator. He’s acting like a fascist.

Good god – he shares a random tweet because it flatters him and has little sun emojis in it?

Again – he gave up his ability to make credible accusations about made up, phony facts many years ago, by pushing so many made up, phony facts himself.

Buy LLBean because they like me Donnie. That’s dignified.

See above.

Not to worry. He’s giving Obama the dignity of the office to take with him when he goes. It turns out he has no use for it but to be more accurate, he couldn’t identify it and so it scared him a little bit.

    Trump putting out fake news?

Besides The Lead hitting the #1 spot in the 25-54 demo on Tuesday, CNN’s ratings have been on the rise over the past year. For 2016, CNN saw its primetime ratings grow by 76% over 2015 and its total day viewership increase 54%. Growth in the demo was also substantial, with primetime up 80% and total day up 54%.

CNN has not been tanking, it is not in a ratings fall, and it has more viewers than Fox.

    Inklast;

Yeah…but Fox watchers apparently come out of their caves and VOTE!

To think I used to buy from LLBean, many many years ago. Even stayed in a nice, nice guest house in Portland, ME to shop late at night at the brick store. They had an old blind cat, very very friendly; I think he liked us. Maybe he just recognized our prosody from a former son-in-law who was related to the then Swedish Ambassador (resident of Watergate iirc). All so ironic.

Not likely to happen again. Not with that particular cat, not with that company and the landlady is likely retired by now.

You know, there’s the Midas touch, and then there’s the other kind. #SAD

CNN, now, there’s another angle. :) Still vividly recall CNN’s reporter breathlessly reporting live on the opening salvos of the first Iraq war: “Well, the 16-inch gun is a pretty impressive counter-the-other-guy’s-defenses weapon!” (May have been Wolf Blitzer?)

On the other hand, I’m just reading a piece in the Times now that says other Beans disagree with Linda Bean and that she doesn’t speak for the company.

Slight correction: It occurs to me that we stayed in Freeport, ME that time, some 30 years ago. Forgive my lapse and carry on.

“Buy L.L.Bean.”?!?! From the president-elect of the USA?!?!

Holy fuckballs. I mean, I already know how fucking cheap and tacky the guy is, but somehow it never sinks in fully, and I get surprised anew on what seems like a regular basis.

Donnie from Queens, the two-bit, street-hawking huckster.
