JKR had a little fun with an Twitter ActiVist yesterday.
He won’t begrudge anyone. Isn’t that sweet? So compassionate, so caring, so broad-minded.
Of course he’s milking it for all he’s worth.
She didn’t retweet him with a “nonsensical argument,” she retweeted him with mockery.
He even did a video about it! Dude knows how to milk.
Community, solidarity, and caring, but not for women.
He also did technically stay off Twitter “today”, but didn’t manage 24 hours. Also, who tweets their ‘I just thought of this rebuttal’ video at 5:29am. I’m pretty sure that’s not a time, except for very very special occasions (or ageing bladders).
Bleh, everytime I hear about Jessie it reminds me of how most of the Star Trek fandom has swallowed Transgenderism hook, line, and sinker to the point where loads of people argue that sex changes and prefered pronouns would obvs be normal in the setting dispite none of the old shows suggesting anything of the sort (ok, there’s maybe one ep, but up until a few years ago it was considered a total stinker). Old Trek was actually very conservative about things like genetic engineering and cybernetic augmentation for people, so why would it be pro sex change surgeries? It’s embarrassing that a community that likes to style itself as pro science would embrace such an obvious pseudoscience, but I suppose in the grand scheme of things it’s less embarrassing that all the actual scientific orgs that have embraced it…
Why does everyone keep calling Jessie ‘he?’ How do they know what Jessie’s gender is? Also, J K R isn’t having fun; she’s stirring up hatred against a member of the LGBT+ community. Pretty sure that’s illegal, at least it is in the UK where JKR lives.
See it’s people like u that keep us in the dark ages. Google led me here but who even the fuck are you and how is HER addressing it any different from u grabbing it and running it with your own thoughts? Bandwagon that shit to gain some relevance.
Gennifer ( Why not Zheniffer or Jennifurrrr or Ken-al-fur? edgy spellings are so kool!): Ophelia is nobody but a lone voice calling in the wilderness, a bastion for logic and reality in a sea of fervid gender religion fundamentalism. For some of us, the capture of the left by pseudoscience and disguised Mens Rights Activists is not a good thing.

Why should any one of us care about his gender? It is confected, made up bullshit used by narcissists in an attempt to add meaning to their lives when the rest of the world ignores how wondrously full of Unicorn farts they are.

There is no such thing as an LGBT+ community. Is Jessie Gay? Lesbian? Bi? Transvestite? Or +, which obvs includes 100% of us? Only trannies are keen on the forced teaming because, being narcissists, they are too self absorbed and too lazy to create anything of their own. They are parasites.
NB – I deliberately avoided using trans* as the vast majority of trans people deserve our empathy, compassion and, care. My issue is with the combination of misogyny and homophobia that is the TRA/MRA allyship.

@VanitysFiend, yes that’s a good point. Similarly the Culture universe created by Iain M Banks. Of course in the Culture people actually could change sex just by going into a meditative trance. Also crime was completely unknown, everyone had every conceivable thing they could want, and no-one would be so gauche or impolite as to force themselves where they were not wanted, so we can probably accept that as a utopia. Closer to reality however…

She’s criticizing somebody, and she’s having fun doing it. Criticism isn’t “stirring up hate.” If you want to see what “stirring up hate” looks like, you won’t have far to look. You genderists stir up a lot of it, directed at JKR and other gender critical feminists.

You lot are hilarious, talking about leaving the discussion to adults, when all you’re doing is flinging ad hominem arguments and being insulting. Still waiting for a reasonable argument that would, for example, quote actual studies, or even better, a meta-analysis, justifying your point of view, but we all know it won’t come, because there’s nothing to back it up.
