Well, that’s up front.
Let trans women win, the protest sign says, meaning: let men cheat by competing against women. Let men win by pretending to be women so that they can easily win all the prizes. So they’re cheating, so what, let them win!!
You wouldn’t think they’d want to go with that.
Just more of the same from them. First it was “we just want to pee!”, then it was “we just want to compete on the team matching our idennity!” and now it’s “you should let us win”. This step-by-step encroachment is a huge reason as to why so many of us defy this political agenda to continually grant special rights to self-identified trans types, no matter how small (see: pronouns).
Wow. Double meaning much?
That’s what makes it so much fun!
The sign reflects the complaint made by the trans cyclist in the interview, that “as soon as I started winning, they threw me out!” It’s the frustrated cry of a despised underdog who managed to get admitted only because the powers in charge thought they’d disappear into the background and be no threat. “Sure, let the poor immigrant refugee with no formal training or history of competition in — makes us look good, and it’s not as if there’s anything to worry about, haha.” The story frames trans athletes as a bunch of Little Engines That Could, surprising everyone with their unexpected grit and determination. How mean to refuse to let them get over the mountain. Let Trans Women Win!
The person who made the sign has probably gaslighted herself into believing this. Never underestimate the power of a good story.
